         He did’nt deserve a harsh punishment for such a peccadillo.

  • Insatiable (adj): Impossible to satisfy.

         Hitlers’ insatiable drive for power.

  • Augur (v): To predict, portend.

         "This does’nt augur well for the future".

  • Blethering (v): To talk in a foolish way and usually at length.

         The characters in the play are blethering idiots.

  • Crescendo (v): A gradual increase in loudness or intensity.

         The crescendo of fierce winds.

  • Blithe (adj): Joyous and carefree.

         The blithe young couple enjoyed their picnic.
