euthanasia is also called mercy killing as we all know. i believe that its one of the highly debated topic. and me being a doc feel that in termially ill patients and in cancer patients who r indergoing tremondous pain….it should be done, coz the pain is really undearable. and also in people who are terminally ill and who can’t afford to pay the high hospital charges, is it not better that euthanasia be done so as to save the misery of the relatives who can’t pay t high medical bills. and terminally ill cancer patients undergo very severe pain. and we all know how painful the death is…is the pain which he undergoes worht living for a few moe days, when he’ll be dying on his/her bed every moment. isn’t it better to free him from that prison of pain and suffering…if i think about this i feel, it should be allowed.
but there’s a catch. it can be misused…there must be strict laws pertaining on whom it can be done. and the decision should not be given to only one individual…he can misuse. there must be atleast 2 other doctors who should also certify it, other than the treating doctor. well friends…the topic is really very good. can’t type more…

human being has d right 2 live..so has d right 2 dye
d person who has been living with dignity..should has d right 2 dye with dignity
der r some diseases which r not cureable(like AIDS,Lukemiya)..so d decission should b taken by d patient..what he wants is imp.
a person who is in coma & Dr.has given up d chance of recovery..d decission of his fate should b taken by his family
India is a devoloping country..where 35-40% children r malnourished & mortality rate is high due 2 lack of money…so a peson who is terminally ill, aged 80+ & living with expensive life support..is a fascination
on d contrary…………
as d birth is not in our hand..so as death shouldn’t b
man has 2 struggle 2 b alive
if euthenesia is legalised, dat will b a real threat 4 devolopment of new life-saving drugs…as 2-3 decades ago cholera was a life threatening disease..now it’s just like having cold
a patient can’t b granted as mentally strong enough 2 take decission of his death….

“the terminally ill are a class of persons who need protection from family, social, and economic pressures, and who are often particularly vulnerable to such pressures because of chronic pain, depression, and the effects of medication.” … from the State of Alaska’s arguments that assisted suicide is dangerous (Sampson et al. v State of Alaska, 09/21/2001)
People in favor of Euthanasia argue about the vegetable state of a person who needs the liberation. But the fact is, if Euthanasia is legalised there would not be any check on the circumstances under which a patient was killed/relieved. As we all know too well, how easy it is to buy professionals and thier opinon. The intentions of legalising Euthanasia may be good but legalising it would be to legalise killings. History is witness that legalising killing (remember the Soviet gulag, the Nazi concentration camps, the killing fields of Cambodia) has dreadful consequences.

There is a point here; but if euthanasia is legalised then suicide must also be. The only difference is the former is assisted and the later is self inflicted.
ON dec 21,2006.Marico Ricco an Italian doctor disconnected a respirator that was keeping Piergiorgio Welby alive. After Ricco gave him the sedative and switched off the respirator, Webly smilingly said goodbye to his wife and kids and in 45 min he was dead. Webly’s right to die was widely publicised in Italy.
Here two questions arise: whether a person has the right to sustain life supporting med.treatment
The other is whether voluntary euth. is ethically definsible.
But before such a law is implemented the must be strong legal framework on this; without any loopholes.

Mercy Killing is a term used for some cases of euthanasia. Typically it refers to euthanasia by a someone other than a doctor, such as a parent, who perceives the individual to be suffering. In some cases the individual cannot consent. In some cases the individual can consent but is not asked or refuses. Lastly, in some cases the individual consents, and it may even be them who initiates the discussion…..therefore euthanasia is not mercy killing technically.

It cannot be decided by the person who is in pain as for him then ..his conscience is at its lowest level…it is the challenge that the patient has to face even if he is sure that he wil die…otherwise there is no other option other than euthanasia. It is purely dependant on the situation and the mindset of the people. On the other hand,it should’nt be implemented as a law because some people may misuse it and cause the loss of an innocent life…

Science is progressing at a massive rate. At any point of time a drug could come into the market which could save a person from a “terminal” illness. Every person desires to live, but in pain he loses the power to understand and decide about his life and nobody has the right to define someone else’s destiny. So euthanasia should definitely find a way out of our dictionaries.

euthanasia should not be legalised because it ill do more harm than good. it will defintely be misused unless strict laws r implemented… on the other hand if euthanasia is legalised it ill help the terminally ill patients bcoz death is certain in their case and hence its no using suffering so much …itz better to relieve the patient and his family..

yaa absolutely euthanasia is right to follow in conduct a person who is the least part of the society and to whom he is in contact or his her wellwishers themselves do not want to him any more alive, because of the pain he is suffering from, then it is better to choose death over life………………..

Euthanasia is defined by the Oxford Concise Dictionary as ” the painless killing of a patient suffering from an incurable disease or in an irreversible coma” ,, i dnt think we hav right to say abt this ,,how can we comment on the topic , unless we feel those …we dnt hav ne right to disregard ne ill persons feeling, moreover no one wants to die unless situation begs them to , … but keeping in mind abt d footholes in the system .. euthanasia should be regarded in some special cases….

euthanasia mercy killing depends on pateint.if pateint is ill wid unberable pain like in cancer den i don think it will b wrong to give mercy death its just to free him from dat breath takin pain…but if we r duin dat jus we don hav money den i don think its fair justice to pateint life….. so dis topic has diplomatic discussion to sum extent cos we can’t favor it completly can,t we gainsay it too…..
